Wednesday 3 February - Albert Kahn Museum and Gardens

The main activity today was a visit to the Albert Kahn Museum and Gardens in south west Paris at the Boulogne metro stop.  I was most impressed with the gardens which, even at this time of year, were well worth a visit.  The museum documented the life of Albert Kahn and emphasized his attempts to develop an understanding of a healthy living environment as well as his zeal to record the world in photographs and video in the early part of the 20th century.

The Japanese garden was perhaps the most interesting:

We were particularly intrigued with the way the water was channeled out of the Japanese Garden - this video demonstrates..

Other areas of the gardens were well worth a visit, there are sections showing different environments such as heavy forest, rocky forests, swamps as well as a rose garden, English and French gardens etc.
Having been coming to Paris so many times it is great that we are still finding new and interesting things and places to visit.

There are a number of good videos available on YouTube showing the gardens in summer.
